Over the last two months of this fall semester, our NSSLHA chapter has participated in numerous volunteer and service events. We have volunteered with Big Brother Big Sisters, a local nursing home in Stevens Point, and the Central Wisconsin Children's Museum.  Most recently, twenty-two of our members volunteered in a Rake-A-Thon for Make a Difference Day.  Our fundraising coordinator has been doing an amazing job of organizing fundraisers for our chapter. She has designed a logo for sweatshirts that our members can order. We will be able to show everyone at UWSP how great NSSLHA is by wearing them around campus!  We are also planning a social event for our chapter that will also serve as a fundraiser. Members can purchase mugs to decorate. Those mugs will be sent to a pottery company to be finished and then sent back for our members to keep. The pottery company has so graciously decided to give a select portion of the money raised back to our club.

Lastly, our chapter invited a UWSP first-year graduate student, Abby Wallace, to talk about the WSHA conference at our October meeting. She described everything that the conference entails and how undergraduate students can benefit from attending.
