2019 Convention Call for Presentations

Presenting at the WSHA Convention!

WSHA conferences are attended by 275-300 Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Professionals from Wisconsin and the upper Midwest. Presentations for this year’s convention will be focused on one of five topic areas:


Audiology
Birth to six SLP
Medical SLP
Schools SLP
SLP and Audiology Student Sessions


Please submit the details for your presentation for convention planners to promote your session as soon as possible upon notification of acceptance. The deadline for submissions is August 10, 2018.

Based on suggestions from past conference attendees, the planning committee would be especially interested in sessions on the following topics in addition to many others:

Advancements in Treatment of Dysphagia
Voice Disorders
Creative Therapy Ideas on a Low Budget
Intervention for Bilingual Students

Apraxia
Technology, Technology, Technology - What is coming and how can it be used by SLPs and AuDs
Head and Neck Cancer Updates
Adult Cognition
Telepractice
Role of Technology in School Based Services
Stuttering
Collaboration Among Practitioners - Multidisciplinary Teams- Examples from the Field

Learning Objectives:

Each abstract will need to include two to three concise and complete learning objectives that describe what the learner will be able to do at the conclusion of the session.

Example:

At the conclusion of this session, the participant will be able to:

1. Understand the impact of fatigue on patients and society.

2. Evaluate the cause of an individual patient’s fatigue.

3. Develop patient specific treatment strategies for the treatment of fatigue.
