Our NSSLHA chapter is off to a good start this year. The inaugural meeting of the year was well attended, 71 members attended excluding the executive committee. The picture below is the new executive committee.

As in years past, we try to maintain a strong presence in the Stevens Point community. Current volunteer events include a Down Syndrome Awareness Walk in Wausau, Sundays with Seniors, healthy family night and exceptional child's night at the Central WI Children's Museum, and Whispering Pines game night with residents. Our volunteer coordinator Jordan Stefanik is currently trying to organize volunteer opportunities with the childcare center on campus where members would lead story time for certain days of the week. She is also helping to connect members with students in China and help them with their English skills.

Another neat work in progress is our CSD social night, scheduled for November 27th. With this new event, the executive committee will be presenting the opportunity to members to meet and talk with professors as well as SLP and AuD professionals. This social event will hopefully be enlightening to aspiring SLPs and AuDs as to the different career opportunities available.
