Every Member Counts!
In these budget-tightening times, speech-language pathologists
and audiologists in Wisconsin need to have a strong voice
in Madison to ensure that the services we provide continue
to be supported. To maintain and enlarge the perception of
WSHA-P being the official voice for audiologists and speech-language
pathologists, we need a majority membership. The audiologists
have approximately 75 percent of those who practice in Wisconsin
as WSHA-P members, but the speech-language pathologists, who
number near 3,000, can boast only 30 percent membership in
WSHA-P. When WSHA-P’s lobbyist represents professional
interests before the state legislature, make sure that your
interests are included in WSHA-P’s voice. The strength
of WSHA-P depends on the strength and depth of our membership.

WSHA Student Sponsorship Program
The WSHA-P Student Sponsorship Program enables professional speech-language pathologists and audiologists to provide full or partial sponsorship for WSHA-P memberships to current graduate students in speech-language pathology or audiology. To sponsor students, members should indicate the amount of their contribution on their membership application or renewal. The fee for sponsoring a student is $20 per year. To qualify for a sponsored membership, a student must be currently enrolled in a graduate program in speech-language pathology or audiology at one of the universities in Wisconsin. Student(s) must complete a WSHA-P membership application and note “Student Sponsorship” on the application form. The Department Chairperson must sign the application as well. Sponsored student memberships depend on funds available and are assigned on a first-come-first-served basis. For more information, contact WSHA.
