Co-Sponsorship of Continuing Education (CE) Activities

Please note: Requirements have been updated as of June 1, 2012 for all co-sponsorship events to meet ASHA's Requirement #3: Transparency in Course Planning, Delivery, Marketing. The focus of all events must be scientific and professional education, not product or service promotion. The organization offering the activity must obtain disclosure forms from all planners and presenters and properly disclose financial and In-kind support in promotional material. In addition proper disclosure(s) must be stated during the event. Please contact the WSHA office as soon as you begin planning your event so we can assist you with the necessary ASHA requirements. Required documents must be received by the WSHA office no later than 90 days prior to the event. Please note the ASHA fee for co-sponsored activities will be increasing to $325 for events submitted to ASHA on or after January 1, 2015.

 

Policy:  The Wisconsin Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Association (WSHA) will individually administer co-sponsorship of CE activities that meet ASHA required guidelines. Co sponsored events must meet the following criteria in order to be considered: 

  • Disclosure forms must be received from all planners and presenters to properly disclose financial and in-kind support in promotional material.  In addition proper disclosure(s) must be stated during the event.

  • Events must not compete with WSHA events and therefore approval is at the discretion of the WSHA Executive Board.

  • Events that are approved by the WSHA Executive Board can be advertised on the WSHA website.

  • Organizations submitting requests to co sponsor continuing education activities must be Affiliate members of WSHA. Click here to join as an Affiliate member: https://wisha.site-ym.com/general/register_member_type.asp 

  • Organizations must pay $325 ASHA processing fee.

  • Organizations must pay $250 WSHA processing fee in addition to $5.00 per participant fee (due at the conclusion of the program).

  • All events and topics must conform to ASHA guidelines for professional or related content. Speaker must possess professional qualifications.

  • The focus of the activity must not be for the sale of a specific product. Resources for continuing education presenters and planners can be found on the ASHA website (http://www.asha.org/ce/for-providers/ResourcesForPresenters.htm).
